Dr. Hardy is an Associate Professor at the Fayetteville State University School of Social Work. She is the former Editor-in-Chief of the journal Social Work in Public Health and member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of Religion & Spirituality in Social Work: Social Thought. Additionally, Dr. Hardy has served on the Council on Racial, Ethnic, and Cultural Diversity for the Council on Social Work Education and previously served on the Board of Directors for the NACSW. Currently, Dr. Hardy is the Second Vice-Chair of the North Carolina Democratic Party and serves on numerous non-profit Boards.
The Director of Member Relations will take leadership with member recruitment and retention by developing and implementing strategies to attract and retain members as well as addressing barriers to membership growth. The Director will also foster relationships between the organization and the members through member-focused events, activities, or networking opportunities. In addition, the Director of Member Relations will maintain an up-to-date database of members, provide reports to the Board on membership trends. Finally, the Director will serve as the primary liaison between the Board and membership via direct communication.
The Director of Communications will develop and implement communication strategies to support the mission and strategic goals as well as ensuring consistency across all channels. The Director will take the lead on creation and dissemination of the Society newsletter, maintenance of the social media accounts, and any broader messaging efforts. Internal communications will focus on facilitation of clear and timely communication with the Board and members; external communications will include promotion of the Society and its activities, press releases, and campaigns for advocacy to raise awareness of issues related to the organization's mission and goals.
The Board Secretary will be responsible for creating and distributing meeting agendas, taking, maintaining, and distributing the minutes for Board meetings and Annual Membership meetings. Additionally, the Board Secretary will liaise with Board Members to ensure timely dissemination of information. As a member of the Board, the Secretary will offer invaluable support to the overall organization's functioning through these and other duties as assigned.
